Each month we will highlight one of our members.  This gives everyone an opportunity to become acquainted with each other and learn about our members.

Lois Strate

Lois Strate

Lois joined our chapter in April 2008.  She currently works as the Unit Assistant in the Center for Local Government Technology on the OSU campus.  Her husband L.D. is a retired sports editor, and they have one son, Shawn.

Lois loves crafts, reading and traveling, and has traveled to Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy, England, Mexico, Canada, and the Vatican City, not to mention 35 states including Alaska and Hawaii.

Lois is unique in that she is a Senior Senior at OSU, definitely a non-traditional student.  She wants to obtain her Master's Degree in Financial Planning.

Lois' dream job would be having her own Financial Planning firm, specializing in planning for women.

Lucy Kershaw

Picture not available...

Lucy is one our newest members, joining in early 2008, but has jumped in with both feet by offering to chair our Bylaws and Standing Rules committee!  She works in OSU Veterinary Clinical Services and loves her job.

When all her family gets together, she has a houseful...she has 3 grown children of her own (Mitch, Amy and Chris), one grandchild (Lexi), and 3 stepchildren (Jessica, Katie and David).  Plus husband Michael of course!

Lucy likes to travel as long as it's not driving.  She would love to visit places like Egypt, Bethlehem, and Jerusalem with her husband.

She loves to play racquetball and used to play four nights a week before she moved to Oklahoma.  Lucy participated in racquetball leagues and also many tournaments, and would love to start playing again.

If she could "do it" over again, she said that she would have gone back to school a long time ago and completed a degree in business, accounting, HR, or psychology.
